A pleasant weekend.
Friday I got some solid research done before work. My final paper for my class on literacy and school libraries is looking solid. Now it just needs some writing.
Friday night I met up with Jeff, Paula, Colleen and Matt to play us some Lady Blackbird. It was good fun and based on some instant messaged conversations with John after that, he made some changes to the pdf, which is neat to see.
Saturday was a decent day at work and met with Jim, Aaron and Charlotte to play some D&D after that. We were making our way through an okay encounter with some orcs when a dragon showed up. It was looking like a role-playing encounter but then Charlotte's elf hit it with an arrow. She attempted to bluff it, make it look like an accident. No dice; she rolled a 1.
Already a bit worn out from the orcs, we took the thing on, just three of us. We took it down. It effing rocked. I spent all of my encounters and dailies on it and they all hit, every last one of them. I'll write about it in Daggers & Deviltry later. We were all really pumped.
Woke up Sunday afternoon to Jeff playing UFC 97, which was pretty lackluster, all things said and done. Spent the rest of Sunday on the couch- eating, sleeping or reading comics.
Now it is the middle of the night and I'm at the library. I just got some real headway on my group Issue Brief and I'm taking a break. It feels like I finally wrote something that will be useful to the paper, finally, which is nice.
It is going to be a night of writing. If I can do it, I'll write through the night and then meat Jim and Charlotte at the gym to do a rockin' workout that we are all looking forward to hitting.
