4 Comics at Wegman's and the rest of the day.

I picked up a few comics on a whim off of the Wegman's rack and they were all pretty decent.

Wolverine #66, Millar and McNiven: Wolverine is an old man in a post-apocolyptic U.S. married to a redhead named Maureen with two kids, Scotty and Jade. Gamma irradiated Betty and two Hulkish thugs to collect rent, Logan's a pacifist now and a road-trip in Spider-man's old car with a blind Hawkeye across a ludicrously dark U.S.

I have no idea where its going but its fun so far.

Fantastic Four #558, Millar and Hitch: Doom comes to the Baxter Building demand to see Reed only to be whisked away by unknown super-folks while Ben and Johnny deal with dating woes and the new nanny shows that she absolutely rocks.

Fantastic Four is the book I always wanted to be good but just never really was. Between Millar's solid door-kicking and Hitch's art, I'm sold and in for this arc, called The Death of Invisible Woman.

Superman #667, Robison and Guedes: Superman in space with Hal Jordan, throwing discs to Astro while the Metropolis Science Police deal with a menace.

Man, you had me at Astro and at James Robinson writing.

Captain America #39, Burbaker, De La Torre: Some Red Skull clone of the original Cap plagues Bucky while he settles in to the Captain America mantle with some help from Falcon.

I like how Brubaker makes Cap a very political super-hero without skimping on the ass-kicking.

It is nice to just grab a few comics off of the rack and read a solid issue.

Next up for the day: Finish up my Mutant City Blues character and write later about my first hour and a half of sweating and grunting that is Bikram Yoga.
