I love when the comics pile arrives on Monday afternoon. Monday is my second day of the weekend and I have the house to myself.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #6&7: This Faith arc is a good time, as I thought it would be and more than that, this comic really feels like season 8.
Captain America #31: I got it just to see what they were doing post Cap's death and it was a mediocre issue featuring the post-Cold War bad-ass Bucky. I'll give it until the unveiling of the new costume and then we'll see where its at.
The New Avengers #35: A new crime lord is bringing everyone together in NYC. I'm intrigued. This better all come together, man, that is all I'm saying. The first Avengers arc opened with a jail break and there'd better be some resolution with that.
The Mighty Avengers #5: Crisp art and global threats make for a fun comic.
Thunderbolts #117: Seeing Doc Samson being a therapist was worth the price of admission. I love that character. A gamma irradiated therapist with green hair and the ability to bench press 80 tons is about the best concept ever.
Runaways #28: This series remains charming and lovely. If you haven't picked up the cute little manga-sized trades, do yourself a favor and do so. The early 20th century New York City is Gangs of New York meets the early X-Men. Fun times.
Ultimate Spider-man #115: This comic feels back to form with the return of the Green Goblin.
Daredevil #101: Man, this comic is holding on by a very thin thread. I'll wait until this Mr. Fear arc is over and if the next arc doesn't grab me, after a few years of readership, this sucker's gone.
Powers #26: This is a comic that I always enjoy reading but I wonder if I'd enjoy it a whole lot more in trade paperback format.
