Just checked the mail and found a letter from the FBI. It looks like I've passed the Phase I test like I thought, I would have been severely disappointed in myself if I hadn't.
Now that the easy part is over I really need to focus on the rest. The letter they sent me also included a 9 page employment application which I need to send back. I've filled out enough of those so that doesn't scare me. What does make me nervous is that they sent a sheet for me to fill in with my current physical fitness stats. Apparently my application will not be considered any further until I can meet the minimum requirements for the FBI PFT.
I've got five things to work on for the PFT: sit-ups, a 300 meter sprint, push-ups, a 1.5 mile run, and pull-ups. I've never been fast and I hate running, so all of the distance part is going to be a bitch to work on. I can't do a pull-up to save my life, so I need to work on that. Normally I wouldn't be too worried about either the push-ups or sit-ups, however the FBI has got some stringent requirements on how to do these, so I need to work on them as well.
I can obviously see how I'm going to be spending my mornings and weekends for the next while :P
On a totally unrelated side note - I scratched one of my lenses with a rifle scope when it kicked back at me while I was at the range today. Normally I would be upset, but this gives me an excuse to order the transition lenses I want.
