243 - Olympics
Jubilee was a really good gymnast. They used to say that she was good enough that maybe she could have gone to the Olympics. Maybe she could have even won the gold.
That never happened. When her parents were murdered, and she moved into the mall, there was no way to keep up her training. She used her talents, her skills (and her newfound mutant abilities) to dodge the cops. There was no way for her to go to the Olympics then.
When she finally found a new home, a new family, it didn’t really matter. She still wasn’t going to go to the Olympics. Mutants aren’t allowed to participate. It didn’t matter that Jubilee’s fireworks didn’t have any affect on her gymnastics skills, she still wouldn’t be allowed to compete.
When M-day came, and she lost her powers, after the initial shock, her first thought was that maybe she could compete. But that wasn’t to be. She was too old, now. Only seventeen, but past her prime for that sport.
Maybe one day something would go right for her.
