Jubilee would always remember that encounter with the Friends of Humanity. Their answer to that simple question had nearly convinced her that Professor Xavier’s dream was an impossibility - humans and mutants would never be able to coexist. She had thought about giving up - going into hiding. Spending the rest of her life knowing that she was a freak.
But she didn’t. Instead, she devoted herself to the dream, to the X-Men, and then to Generation X. If she quit fighting, quit believing, she would be letting them win. Instead, every action she made would try to make it so that no other girl had to hear that she was hated just for being born. One day, maybe not in her lifetime, but one day, everyone would be accepted for who they were.
And that was something that Jubilee was more than willing to fight for. Even die for, if she had to.
