It's strange how a weekend can have it's ups and downs. Friday was great; Ryan came up to see me and we both passed out on the couch during our attempt to watch Braveheart (terrific movie. It made me proud to be Scottish). Saturday was alright; I went home and went to lunch with my Mom and her boss/best friend, Chris. There was a *little* incident on Saturday evening that was really the icing on the cake, in a way. I wasn't really mad about it, just annoyed to the point of tears. It's just a bunch of BS that I don't deserve to have to put up with, but yet I put up with it because I care way too much not to. *sigh* The moral of Saturday's events is that love comes with hardships. I wish something would be perfect in this world, ya know? Not even love is perfect, and if love isn't perfect, what in gods name is?? All you need is love...and a big sword.
And in grand tradition, it's Eli update time. I rode him bareback for the first time in...ohhh...3 years, today. Wow. Talk about an adrenaline rush! I was looking at the ground a wee bit too much for my liking, really, as he kept kicking up his heels in discontentment. He got over it after a while and we just walked around like normal, safe, not crazy horse and rider. This all occured because I somehow got locked out of my friends' tack locker where my saddle is kept, and I wanted to ride so, I rode. He was decent though. Better than I expected, so that's good. Not to mention the weather right now is what we horse people like to call the horsey "LOOK, I CAN FLY!" weather. It's been sprinkling on and off all day and it's rather grey out there. Cold as hell, too, ALREADY. I hate Michigan!! AHH! haha. Eli's starting to get his winter coat too - Mr. Fuzz-Ball. tehehe. So cute. I planned on riding on the fairgrounds today but they were having a horseshow so I couldn't go over there...not that I could without my saddle anyways. *grr* I have to get that key or I'll go crazy....ok, crazier.
