Drabble: Suits - Harvey/Mike
So, because cinnatart is an evil enabler, and waved my previous attempt at comment meme fic in my face, I wrote nearly 300 words of Suits for her Kissing Meme 3.0. I thought I'd put it up here for shits and giglges or whatever. And yes, apparently I'm able to write in other fandoms now. I can honestly say that I never thought the day would come, but now... *looks at that other Suits fic and WTF Supernatural, too?!, on my harddrive*

Harvey doesn't know why he does it. It just. It just happens. Which is unsettling, since things never "just happens" when Harvey Specter is in the picture.
Late evening at the office. Again. Pouring over papers trying to make a last minute miraculous case save. Again. Both of them in Harvey's office - the only room left on the floor that still has the lights on. And yes, it's late, and yes, he's tired - who can blame him for his facade slipping a bit? ...well, besides himself.
And his puppy just sits there. Eyes pouring over the pages, trying desperate to right the mess he knows he's at LEAST partly responsible of getting them into in the first place. The eyes looks slightly haunted. No, strike the slightly.
This is why Harvey doesn't get emotionally involved, dammit. Why is he here, then, you might ask. Well - obviously he can't lose a case, he has a reputation to maintain. But somehow that wasn't his first thought when he dismissed the idea of going home to his fancy apartment and soft bed.
Harvey doesn't know how long he's been looking, but he sees the exact second the light in Mike's eyes change. And Harvey knows. Knows his kid, his puppy, his protegé, whateverthehell-Harvey doesn't know what to call him, his Mike, has done it again.
And Mike reaches out a hand, eyes still firmly on the paper, to wave in Harvey's general direction to get his attention, unknowing of the fact that he already has it.
"Harvey. Harvey, look here." The tone in his voice rises in glee.
"Yeah. Yeah, I see." And Harvey tips Mike's chin up and kisses him.
And yeah, okay, maybe Harvey does know why he does it.
And I still don't have a Suits icon to post this with. In case anyone cares, I want more icon space for Christmas... *whistles*
