Fanfic 2010
Fics written: 3
Fics completed: 1
Fics still WIP: 2
Uncompleted/unposted fics and or additional fic chapters to previously completed stories: 6
So, what was I happy with: The great fans in my fandoms that happily put up with my delays and still kept reading and reviewing.
Not happy with: all those delays - at 40, with more medical issues and real life complications, finding time to write is becoming harder.
Thoughts on my fanfic this year: Well, both the larger series ideas are ones I think are fresh, but need a lot more time than I seem to be able to devote to their development. I have also realized this year that I have a very specific type of ship based on what I like that keeps me in certain lines... (PR - T/K, C/Kir; HP - H/Hr; BtVS/AtS - B/A; CPatSotF - J/J; X-Files - M/S, etc...) and have sort of continued in those lines in all my writing.
Plans for the new year: Finish Die Another Day and Answering the Call. And not posting any new story/series unless I a. am mostly finished/completely finished with it and b. have backed up my fanfic on 3 different drives/servers.
Fandom 2010
Did my first convention (PMC!) and met some of my online friends (
p_g_w_4ever ,
shigeki_jkp ) and met new fandom friends (see
second_batgirl from above).
Continued to read fic in the following fandoms: HP, SPN, BtVS/AtS, CPatSotF, PR. Met live or online some great authors (
windjammers) and found some awesome fanfic: SPN "The Brotherhood series", most of the new CPatSotF fanfic, BtVS/DF crossovers by
jedibuttercup ...
Gave up: comic books (sorry, but for $3.99, you had better be better than a free fanfic in regards to your storytelling)
Excited for: not many movies (not a fan of HP OBHWF) I'll have to hope that things will be better in 2011; the PMC 2012!
Well, not the most eventful year for fanfic writing for me, but hopefully next year I can better manage my time, have less medical issues keeping me from writing and be wholly inspired by the authors around me.
