Well, Tuesday was the big trip to Richlands to see Dr. Harrison about my wisdom teeth. He took me back in the examination room and sat up the x-ray that I brought with me. As soon as he whipped out his pen, I knew things were going from bad to worse. The original plan was to take out the bottom left tooth because it was lying on its side. I got in there, and he told me that both bottom wisdom teeth were abscessed. Very bad indeed lol. Also, the one on the bottom right was threatening connecting with the main nerve and vessel traveling to the rest of my teeth; its roots were bending. He was a really cool guy though, to his credit, and for what little it’s worth. He went over everything that was gonna happen, answered all my questions, and gave me directions for taking care of things afterwards. He recommended that both teeth come out on that day, and since I wasn’t a doc, I agreed.
So, I took that long (actually, very short) walk to the operating room. They stuck me with the butterfly IV and fed me some of their cool drugs. I chitchatted with them until I eventually passed out. Around 11:15 or so (I suppose), I came back to the real world, still high as a kite. They assisted me to my wheelchair and rolled me out to the van. Bob said I was blabbering about something, but I swear I was making sensible conversation in my mind haha. I stumbled my way to the back of the van to nap on the way home, and before I knew it, we were there. My bottom lip was still numb, so I couldn’t tell that I had drooled during my nap and the blood went straight through BOTH of my shirts (gross, yes, I know). Bob left almost immediately to go get my narcotics prescription filled. See, the Doc told me that as long as I stayed ahead of the pain with my medicine then I wouldn’t feel much pain at all till the soreness really set in. What they gave me during the surgery was supposed to hold me over for a couple hours afterwards, and it did. The problem was that it took an hour to get home, and about two-and-a-half hours to get the prescription filled in Clintwood. Rite-Aid said they had never had a prescription for that drug, ever, and called another Rite-Aid. First, they said they’d send it on, and then they called back and said they didn’t have it either. So, Bob had to try a really old pharmacist in C-Wood, and they had it. It was twice the dosage I needed, but at least they had it. I took two hour-long naps during the time Bob was away, and the pain came shooting in after I got up from the second one. The pain without the medicine actually made my legs twitch. I needed those drugs ASAP lol.
Eventually, Bob did make it back with my narcotics, and I was a fairly happy camper considering. Those things really packed a punch. I think I might have been up for a total of three hours after I got home. Slept for the rest of the day and all through the night.
Yesterday, Vanessa came over to take care of me haha. I really hadn’t swelled up all that much overnight, but I was, and still am, somewhat sore. I had a ton of energy from sleeping all day on Tuesday, and I was cleaning and rearranging and all this other stuff. She even brought me one of my Valentine’s Day gifts early! It was the newest Vampire Hunter D book! I can’t wait to get to read it. I have so much reading to do…. Anyway, I cooked dinner for her and Bob and set up a little space on the wall to hang up all my memories from the Charlotte race last year (which I hope to add to this year). We messed around the house, played some games, laughed, and eventually got ready for the new episode of LOST!
And what an episode it was! It was another Sawyer-themed episode, finally! Sawyer’s the man, but I’m not so sure how smart it was of him to mess with Jack AND Locke. We’ll have to see what happens there… I can easily see Charlie as being the next one killed off the show. And when are they going to unleash Mr. Eko on the Others? He’d beat the crap out of them with his Holy Stick haha. AND next week, it seems that the timer is finally going to hit ZERO!!! All hell is about to break loose, and it’s gonna be awesome! Shew, I have so many thoughts about that show. I could go on and on… Best show on TV, bar NONE. If you haven’t checked it out, do yourself a favor and pick up season 1 so you can get caught up and watch what’s going on now!
Today, I woke up quite a bit more swollen than yesterday. I look like I have Ben Rothlisberger’s chubby face with these cheeks haha. I don’t know what’s really on the slate for today. I don’t suppose I really have to do anything as far as homework goes (at least, I’m not going to even if I’m supposed to). I might go with Bob to Sam’s and tack some quilts lol. I’ve never worked on quilts, and it’s one of their favorite pastimes. Not like I have anything else to do anyway.
Mrs. Kilgore e-mailed me Tuesday and said I got a 100 on my advanced test. Well deserved, I might add lol. I reckon she got a kick out of the e-mail I sent back to her ‘cause I was on my narcotic high at the time and rambled on and on haha.
The Bud Shootout is this coming weekend! I’m psyched about watching the races with the guys on Sundays again as well as the NASCAR fantasy league we’re all doing. It’ll be great fun, I’m sure! I’m desperate to go back to Charlotte to see a couple more races live now that I have a really good camera to get some great shots with…
I think I’ve rambled on long enough. I’ll catch you all later!
