Is anybody out there? Any humans able to hear this? A woman, maybe?
*weeEEEEoooooooo* grocery store. The Footprint Makers have eaten everything besides the canned goods. It doesn't seem fair *pop* *pop* clearly adapted to survive in this climate -- why do they have to go after the food source of someone who isn't? I guess any animal goes for the food source that's easiest. Thank god those things can't use a can opener.
Eating nothing but canned food now. Yesterday *screech~whine~ zztch* local *pop*brary for something to occupy my mind. I don't know what perversity prompted me to pick up _On the Origin of Species_ by Darwin. It;s the worst choice I could have made. ~zzatch~ zzittch~ *pop* #ZAP# about how species that adapt to changes make it while those who don't perish. I've always pictured our first primate ancestors, little furry lemurs who hid in tree trunks as the dinosaurs went lumbering around, darting out at night to steal their eggs, biding their time. We're supposed to identify ourselves with the lemurs, you see. I wonder how many of us had the foresight #~zz zz zzt EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE zzt~# we would be dinosaurs.
It has occurred to me that the Footprint Makers might not necessarily be violent. Most of the great apes (excluding my own species) are relatively gentle. I could make them an offering of peace, some canned food (not letting them know how to extract it, of course).
