I just watched "Desperate Housewives" for the first time. Is that how it's going to really be? Is that how messed up middle aged people can get in the suburbs? Are all the women really that restless with their men and all the men are cheating their lives away on their wives? If that's the case, then why the hell bother to get married? This show completely disproves what I may want. Everywhere I look, there is something out there proving that all men are only capable of lying and cheating. How am I suppose to adapt trustworthy skills in men when they are so likely to fall into a pit of lust and cheating?
On "Housewives", one of the husbands saw the young attractive nanny naked and was aroused by this, which led to him feeling like he was up to sleeping with his middle-aged wife. I mean, my god, I would shoot myself if I was the wife, learning that that incredible night in bed all happened because he was aroused by someone else. I know that example I gave wasn't cheating really but it was a funny moment in the show to me. Another husband on the show cheated on his wife two seperate times and she was only aware of one until this episode. I mean, it's not even just this show that displays that men cheat. Seventeen Magazine always has these articles in it that discuss the unworthy actions of men. Any girl that reads this magazine will a)not want to easily trust any male b)never want to have sex because for every positive sex story there's a negative and c)will be baraded by the latest fashion and what they should want to wear to attract these men that they won't trust/fuck.
I'm glad that there is a show like "Desperate Housewives". Why? Because it displays that both sexes are completely untrustworthy and both are completely open to mistakes. Both men and women sleep around. I guess I am just more upset that the men are sleeping around in this show as well. I mean, for once, couldn't just the women be the culprit of adultery? I think this show will open up those quite housewives who live their lives away inside their home learning how to knit in 5 different ways, cook for their children and husband, attend every soccer game and gymnastic meet and live sexless and unemotional with their spouse. Maybe there will be an outbreak of divorces this year of 04-05 because of this show..wouldn't that be remarkable how one show, produced by a gay man, can produce such a widespread impact on marriages...not a good impact but certainly, that would be the pinacle of impacts that TV makes on people. Screw how tv teaches violence among children. TV can just as easily affect the average middle aged woman or man..hmph..quite the world we live in...
