Diggin' the O2 Centre

So it’s taken me a year and nine months, but I’ve finally found my favourite Indian restaurant in London. It’s ironic that it’s taken me so long because London is supposed to have the best Indian food outside of India… In any case it’s called Cumin. I’ve been trying to pay forward my moving karma (or however that works) by helping Elizabeth move from her place at Barbican to her new place on Finchley Road. For me, the real benefit is her living across the road from the O2 Centre. They have a Nando’s, and the last time we were there I sampled the Fine Burger Co, and may I say that their milkshakes are fine. The Brits like a thinner, milkier milkshake than us Americans, and it was lovely to have a chocolaty, thick milkshake that was substantial and filled with actual chocolate chips-my pick for the best shakes in London.

The real treat of the evening was Natalie coming by after her SaRock dance class to join us for a spell. SaRock (if that is indeed how you spell it) is allegedly a combination of Salsa and Rock. I saw her and James dancing, and it seems to function both musically and technically as Hustle if you as me… Natalie lives a seven minute bike ride away from the O2 Centre, so it’ll be nice to hang with her when we’re in Elizabeth’s 'hood. Luckily I ordered a veg sampler to start and big vegetarian thali as my main, so there was plenty for Natalie to share even though she didn’t eat enough. Everything was really delicious: so flavourful without being too spicy. And nothing was too greasy either. So good!

I also discovered that Natalie’s a Guns ‘N’ Roses fan today as I scouted for someone to go to the GNR concert with me on Wednesday (she seems far too sweet and mild mannered for that sort of thing). Of course when I was looking for a date, the tickets were plentiful, but now that I’ve discovered that I can go with Natalie’s friend Brooke, the concert’s sold out. What does that mean? Back to ebay you say? Unfortunately, yes. But I’m not going to wig out about it this time. GNR’s back at the end of July, so I think we’re going then if I can convince poor Li’l Bill to come with.

It will be funny if E and I go to the Bon Jovi concert in Milton Keynes this weekend, because that would mean that I got to see three lead singing hotties (John Rzeznik, Axl Rose and Jon Bon Jovi) all in the same week. Also Natalie and Brooke are already going, so it would be a good all around adventure.

So as we pulled up in the taxi today, I noticed that Elizabeth’s new flat is across from Secrets, a place that features ‘American Table Dancing’. Like what is that-a strip club? They dance on runways at American strip clubs. ‘Table dancing’ seems unsafe for the girls (unless they’re like banquet tables) and unsanitary for the diners. I wish that they wouldn’t make up weird things and brand them American :-/
