Argh, I never have time to sit down and post anymore. Between three kids, work, and blogging, LiveJournal kinda gets lost. Does anyone still read it, anyway? I do, almost daily.
Our "re-wedding" was really amazing. I did the whole deal. A friend's babysitter (16-year-old) did my hair, and she was amazing! I (and she) got so many compliments on her work. And she wouldn't take any money for it! She told me she's a bookworm, so I'm going to get her a gift certificate for Barnes&Noble. She deserves something for spending over an hour and doing such a great job. Then I went over to Sephora in the mall and had my makeup done. I had been told I'd need to buy three products, which I was more than willing to do, but the lady who did my makeup was so excited to be doing it for my wedding, and she was alone in the store (another girl was supposed to be there but never showed up), so she kept getting interrupted to help people on the floor and at the register. When she finished, she told me I didn't need to buy anything, and she gave me a little bag of perfume samples, besides! So cool. So I ended up with free hair and makeup. Heh. I had my nails done at "Happiness Nails." There is no shortage of nail salons around here, so I picked one. I'd never had a manicure before. It was fun having pretty nails. Today I went out and bought myself some nail polish. I also intend to go back to Sephora and buy maybe some lip gloss and eye shadow. I could doll myself up once in a while. I've never really cared much about makeup and such, and thus I never wear it. But it could be fun sometimes.
And finally, the DRESS! I went to David's Bridal and actually found one that fit without any alterations. (Good thing, because there wasn't time to do alterations!) It was GORGEOUS. I felt like a princess. The whole fitting experience was fun, too. And it really made it feel like a wedding.
Ronen got a new suit, and he wore tzistzis! He's been wearing them every day since. Wow. Niv and Shai each had a nice outfit, and I bought one for Gil but forgot to take it with me to the venue to put him in it. Ah well. So he's in a sleep-n-play in the pictures. Whatever. He's two months old. Lol. Everybody looked really great.
The ceremony was so neat. First, it was really great having both sets of parents there. We had a truly proper chuppah, with the seven circles and reading of the ketubah and seven blessings and kiddush and breaking the glass. The whole shebang. Then a little dancing and a meal after the chuppah. We even had a professional photographer. Actually two. I'm waiting to see the pictures! My mom took some good pictures, too, which are up on Facebook.
It had been really really rainy all morning, but the rain stopped and the clouds broke and the sun came out just in time for the chuppah!

Cutting the cake
What happens when you leave the remnants of the cake within reach of a couple of two-year-olds. I love this picture so so much.

My dad wasn't very into the idea at first, but by the time he saw me in a wedding dress and realized we meant it to be the "real thing," I think he was really happy to be there. Afterward, he said, "So that's a Jewish wedding!" He's a rather reserved kind of guy, doesn't really express emotion. Sometimes I wonder how much emotion he actually feels. Heh. But I could tell he was happy.
And now I have a week or two breather and then it's time to plan Shai's upshernish! He's going to be THREE in a month! THREE! Time to cut those adorable blonde locks. Not as impressive as Niv's head of hair at his upshernish, but still pretty awesome. Maybe we won't cut too much. He's so cute.
