I'll be 26 and am suddenly feeling very old. I've also been doing some thinking about my fanfic writing career, and I've come to a few decisions.
  • I really need to improve my proofing skills and find a beta.
  • No more exchanges or fests except for yuletide. At the end of the day, I don't like writing to order that much. The one exchange story I'm well and truly ( Read more... )

Are you? Who else have you beta'd for? Also, I have more or less permanently decamped from HP into comics and Mass Effect.

Well, I haven't beta'd for anybody, but I am an English teacher who spends endless amounts of time reviewing essays about works of fiction. Any interest?

I'm horrible with dates, so before I forget, Happy Birthday!

Looking forward to your future fics, no matter who or what you write :)

Thanks. Right now, I'm just going to indulge myself and try not to worry about audience. Try. Peter/Felicia, Bucky/Natasha, Miranda/Thane...whatever I feel like.

Have you read any of Natasha's series? I've been thinking of picking it up.

Haven't read the new series, but I've been meaning to check it out because of Marjorie Liu. She used to run wolverineandjubilee.com which was my first introduction to fan fiction. I've heard good things about the new series, so I'll probably start picking it up soon.

Checked out the Black Widow mini-series that Paul Cornell did from my library and I aim to read through it this week. I'll let you know how it is.

the black widow mini was ok, but I'm really enjoying the new series. Unfortunately they're gonna put in a new creative team after issue 5. Duane Swierczynski writes black ops stuff in his novels pretty well, so maybe he'll do a good job after Marjorie Liu leaves. What do you think about it?
