(no subject)
i haven't made a real post in a while but it's because i haven't done ANYTHING in my life. seriously, the only time i've gone out is to get things at the store, or to go to my grandmother's house. i have no money and am super bored. i am reading a lot, playing with my pets, walking salem, and watching tv. i am a hermit. again.
i bought two egyptian spiny mice a couple of weeks ago. they seem to be adjusting very well, and are starting to take treats from my hands. this is good, because they are known as shy pets. they are captivating to watch because they're so energetic. they are also both male, which means no breeding. my normal mice aren't dying yet, though most of them are over a year old, and ben is almost two. that's reallllly old for a pet house mouse. ajax is blind in one eye, ermes is completely blind, and monster has two open tumours, but she doesn't seem to be in any pain, so i'm not going to kill her. i don't think i could anyway. i've nurtured her since she was born...and smacking her head on the table while she is in a sock just makes me cringe. so i will wait for her to pass naturally. meanwhile frida and marco had 12 babies last week, but it's down to 11 now. the hamsters are happy and sleepy...they don't like each other, which is too bad, cuz baby hamsters would probably go for more than baby mice do. amadeus, my rat, has his cage on the floor now, and i got him a rodent leash two weeks ago, so whenever i open his cage door he runs out to explore. salem and he get along really well, it seems, though sometimes when salem is near his cage, he reaches through the side and pulls salem's ear.
salem turned two on sunday and we did nothing to celebrate. i would have taken him to the park but it was raining heavily, so he didn't get a walk at all.
otherwise, i start my summer course in a week, the same day i have my pre-op. i am having my gallbladder removed on june 20th, and i'm praying to god i don't have another attack before then, because that would super suck. but i have really strong pain killers for it, because the percocet wasn't strong enough...it did nothing. not i have this stuff call dilaudid which totally zoned me out the one time i took it at the hospital. i was so stoned. also nauseous.
