It's not rocket surgery or my numb is mind
So I'm writing because... we'll the only reason one ever writes in LJ is because they are avoiding something more important that should really be done. Things are going well. I suppose I should update the interweb community on everything that's going on. I just got done taking 13 graduate hours this summer. Let me just say that five hour classes suck big time. I had no idea that anyone could teach for five hours or that anyone could sit and learn for that long. I did learn quite a bit this summer but it's unfortunate that I won't be able to use much of it this year because my goal is to simply stay afloat. I'm teaching 5 classes this year (last year only 4) and i have about 40 more students which means i have 40 more papers to grade. I'm also taking 10 grad hours so i'll be in school 2 days a week during the first quarter and three days a week during the second quarter. The good news is that i'll be done with almost all of my course work by may and i'll graduate by next december with my MAT degree (master's in teaching).
I started the year at CBHS last monday with a retreat on monday, in service on Tuesday and then students on Wed/Thur half day on Friday and today was my first full day of class. So far so good, but they're still in the quiet stage.
On a happier note, Dawn started her assistantship today. She's working at the Campus school at UofM. It's cool because they pay for all of her tuition and she gets a stipend. She's going to try and keep a few hours a week at Starbucks (where she worked this summer) so that she can keep getting the discount and the free stuff. She starts school next Monday. Her school goes year round for three years, so it'll be rough going. The program is for School Psychology which is a big change from her English undergrad but she's very excited about it.
We still don't have a wedding date, so don't ask. Everything's going great with us, but it's quite a feat to schedule a wedding when she's got school in the summer and everyone we know is getting married next summer. We'll let you know as soon as we have something more concrete (by which i mean we have a clue at all).
Anywho... hopefully the rest of the week will go well.
Oh, in other news i went to the chriopractor friday for the first time. he popped everything into place and then i'm sure everything fell out of wack again when Dawn and I went skiing with Daniel, Kathy, their new baby Joseph, Patrick, and my brother Stephen. We had a great time. I got to wakeboard for the first time, it was pretty awesome but my everything hurts now. I went to the chriopractor again today and i go again on Wednesday. Hopefully it's worth the money! I guess we'll see. I can turn my neck now, so that's good. Stress does crazy things to the back!
Maybe i'll write more since i've got less time to write? yes no? I say that everytime so i guess i'll see you again in about six months!
