If dippin' dots are the ice cream of the future, i don't know if i really want to stick around

Ice cream, that's one thing i didn't buy yesterday at the store. I went on my first solo trip to the grocery store yesterday. I was 12 bucks over budget, but i guess that's okay since i had to buy all the start up stuff like oil, flour, baking powder, peanut butter, jelly, and other things that you only buy a few times a year. For those of you who don't know, i moved into my new house yesterday also. I'm going to be living at the Hackl's house while they are in Michigan and Florida. See, they have three houses, Memphis, Florida, and Michigan. Florida in the winter, Michigan in the summer... and well, the memphis house sits here so they thought they needed someone to live here... sooo here i am. I'm living rent free in Germantown with a computer, internet, digital cable including, but not limited to, HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax on demand so i can watch any of their movies any time i want... kinda cool huh? Just watched I, Robot and i think next is Shawn of the Dead or some other terrible movie i'd never rent, but hey, it's free!
I lived at home for a week when i got in town which was very nice. Always good to be home, sleep in your own bed, and have homecooked meals. It's still a bit weird to be back home, but i'm adapting very quickly.
I officially start my job at CBHS on August 3, but i've already started working a bit. check out my website at www.cbhs.org/jkuehl (although there's still a few kinks to work out you can get the general idea.) None of the links work right now, but if you type in the page name you can look at it, for example www.cbhs.org/jkuehl/rules.htm or www.cbhs.org/jkuehl/procedures.htm Hopefully i'll have it all up and running by the end of the week. I met with Dr. Davis (my sophomore english teacher) today and we went over some "teaching" stuff which was very helpful. hopefully it'll all sink in. CBHS has really gone overboard, if you thought the giant fish tank in the main hall wasn't enough, now there's going to be a fountain with a giant revolving ball etched like a globe (like the marble ball at oak court) okay, so i'm not sure if it revolves or not, but you get the basic picture... ridiculous huh? well, they needed something to go with the giant sky light they just added in the middle of the library... complements well i suppose.
tonight i had my first dinner alone :( two chicken strips, salad with carrots, cheese, and croutons, and a Little Debbie oatmeal pie for dessert. Not bad i suppose? i'll see how healthy everything stays, i'm going to try. I should really get back into the gym. Maybe by wednesday i'll be able to pull myself off the couch and away from the movies to go for a little while.
In other random news, my aunt Mary is on the front page of ESPN.com today (okay, so not exactly... but) she's teaching Yoga to the University of Memphis football team and there's an article about it on the front of ESPN.com
