This is a song that’s so pretty that you don’t realize how stalkerish it is until you read the lyrics. However, given that angels are slightly stalkerish in their own right with their tendencies to appear out of nowhere and all that, but if you look at the less creepy meaning of the song, Michael takes care of all the people he cares about, including Jo. He especially keeps tabs on her, because he will rain down holy hell on whoever tries to hurt her. No lie.

Michael is very loyal to his commitments in Heaven, and to God, but he’s loyal to Jo, even if she doesn’t necessarily see it that way. If she asked him to stay, he would, regardless of what orders he had from Heaven (unless it was an end of the world, lots of innocent people dying kind of thing). He needs to hold on to her to hold on to the human parts of himself that don’t come as easily (like romantic love) and is why he’s so awkward around her a lot of the time.

This is a sweet song that reminds me of Dean/Jo in so many ways before Michael, but Michael still retains this need to be close to her, and just lose himself in something else for a while. Jo has always been Dean’s escape that way, and is part of the reason why Michael always finds his way back to her for various reasons.

This song is a little weird, I’ll be honest. But I think it fits with the feel of who Michael is now, and it’s Zeppelin, which means that Dean wouldn’t let me get away without it. But the refrain is mostly what applies.

This is a Jo song. It’s also the title of the mix, which is a little weird, but it’s the title that made the most sense. Despite Dean and Michael being the same person, and Jo wasn’t really losing anything, at least physically speaking, they do act very different (though bits and pieces of Dean do slip through more often around her). She needed time to process this change and to shake the feeling that if she fell for Michael, she was cheating on Dean, even if she wasn’t, and this song epitomizes that perfectly.

This is another Jo song, but it could swing both ways. I originally picked it out as a Jo song because Michael has a tendency to disappear without warning, and in a sense, the Dean she knew is gone, and she misses that, but there are parts of it that say Michael to me and that’s why it’s here on the mix.

There’s something about Jo that makes things easier for him. Probably because Michael isn’t really sure what to expect, emotionally, from their relationship. Familial love he’s familiar with, and it frustrates him when he’s not getting what he’s expecting from his own family, but when he goes to her it’s new territory, and that helps him a lot more than she probably realizes.

This is another song that’s in a similar vein to the one above but this is more Dean looking for comfort than indulging his curiosity. It applied before he was Michael and it’ll apply after. She’s probably one of the few people in his family would could actually control his temper if he was pissed off for whatever reason, just because she’s a calming influence on him. She helps him sort out what’s going on his head because he’s still learning how to do it himself, and has saved him a lot of emotional turmoil. Which he really appreciates.

This one is a bit of both of them. The first part of the verse is more the person getting left behind (Jo, usually) and while the second part is more the person coming back, so the song mixes in and out of both of them and how they need each other, more or less.
