I left work at noon yesterday, had to go home to get my dog this time (no dog sitter and the wife was going somewhere too), then head back north again to Columbus to see a.
The drive home was uneventful, barely longer than normal. The drive to Columbus took almost 5.5 hours, versus the normal 2hrs... Ok, about 1.5-2hrs was a jack-knifed truck at Kings Island, then 30-40 mph until about 20 miles from Columbus when the road became a solid sheet of ice.
I had already passed probably 15-20 cars & semis off the road in various states of emergency, but at this point I counted no less than 15 cars & semis in one spot that discovered the ice earlier. Then it was 20mph the remainder...
So, here I am. And here's a shot of earlier today, when we decided to dig ourselves out, at least for now.
