April Fools

Back in 2016 I threw together a few April Fools article ideas for the April (2016) issue of the Michigan IT Newsletter. I got so far as drafting about 4 of them before our CIO announced her departure from the university; because of the timing of the announcement the editorial board (on which I sit) decided to pull them from publication.

This year I revisited the ideas and we-the-editorial board decided to proceed with two of them. I did the initial drafts, and we had some back-and-forth to hammer them into shape, and both auto-published earlier this morning:The 3 lead editors of the newsletter work for ITS; ITS tweets as
umichTECH and whoever administers that account officially tweeted about both articles. I promoted them on Twitter (tweeting about both articles myself), which feeds to my Facebook page, and I linked to them in a couple of friends' Facebook posts about April Fools jokes (Bryan's and Tom's). Feedback so far has been generally positive. I wonder if (and kind of hope that) anyone will comment on the articles themselves.
