Ok well here is something that should make a few people laugh!
Right so the boss wanted me to bring down 20 bottles of water (In case you didnt know I am working for H2O and a big part of business is delivery of 20litre water bottles), so I get them to the lift, ugh... tiring work, wait for the lift, it arrives, I wedge the door open and load the bottles finish with that and head down. Now we are the 2nd floor so going down does not take long, but while getting down, I count the bottles and realise I am missing one!
Fine get to ground, then head straight back up, get to the 2nd floor check and there it is. I grab and then hit the "G" button to go down...
And what happens, I start going up! As I am going up I happen to notice that door is opening while I am still moving. Then suddenly the damn thing jerks to a halt as the doors slide open!
I am now 30cm below the 7th floor and the lift doors are open, but the floor doors aren't! GAh!!!!
So I acted on impulse and did the first thing that popped into my head, I tried to force the door closed, it works, kinda, now there is only a 15 cm gap between the doors, but the lift starts moving, a whole 30cm!!!! So now I am level with 7th floor stuck in a lift! Luckily I had my cell with me so I phoned the office and asked the office manager if she could come up here and see if she can get the doors open from the outside. She gets there and tries the buttons, no good, door wont and I have already tried brute force on the damn things to no avail! So she heads off the talk to security.
I, in the mean time, am lucky enough to have my Ipod and cell phone, so I listen to my music and send a few smses, well actually the same one, to a couple of my friends. Then I decide to appease kmy curiostiy and check out this FUCKING DOOR!, and I happen to notice that on either side and above it I notice some levers and pulleys and rollers and I get this itch to touch the damn thing!
But of course my conservative side steps in and says/thinks what if you fuck this up even more, well generally I dont listen so I was about to fiddle when anothier thought pops up, a much darker one, it was something along lines of this, "Jason, why not just tight and hope to the gods of creation that the cable snaps and you plummet to your death, wouldn't that be fun." Well I am pretty sure that WONT happen, but then again this is a really old building and the lifts are not in great condition and ...... To be honest that thought had a wonderful appeal to it! Not to mention Fiddling with the pulleys didnt work after I pulled/moved 2 of the 3 I could see!
30 minutes later a Techie arrives and what does he tell me to do!!! Move that FUCKING 3RD ROLLER!!!!! AGH!!! I almost screamed!!!
Well Not exactly the most interesting tale, but maybe it will put a smile on your face, if not oh well, hope your day is going well
