Don't you hate it when you get hacked? As in, your e-mail account... yeah. I just got an e-mail from myself trying to sell myself viagra. I mean, I'm being nice... it's 70% off. But still. I hate myself for thinking that I need a big supply of viagra.
In other words - my chemistry account e-mail address somehow got spoofed, and it got sent by me, to me. Ridiculous.
What is not ridiculous is how much fun I had this weekend! I did some work, too! Friday was cheer-up Melissa - meaning wine and drinks at her house with our respective roommates and her friend Mark (yes, that Mark, Emily). It was a good night which did end up with me holding someone's hair... alas.
Saturday was a fiasco of Risk 2210 at my place. Patrick organized it, and I hosted. There was Dan, Pat, Andy, and a few of Pat's friends: Brent and Alan. It was the first time meeting Brent, but we got to chat about C.S. Lewis - apparently I'm not the only one to think that The Great Divorce is one of his greatest works. Great time.
Afterward, my friend Piotr called and we went shopping. I ended up cooking him some squash... well we had other stuff, but I wasn't about to eat a whole squash by myself. We picked up some Polish Beer from the grocery store and spent the rest of the night discussing the intricasies of the way the world works and what it means to live. Of course he's a liberal atheist and I'm a fairly conservative christian (especially when it comes to relationships) so we butt heads, but it was good conversation and of course, lots of laughter.
Sunday was singing in church, lunch at Melissa's with Steph, and stopping by the Wine and Hops shop. I left Melissa and Steph in the middle of starting some Reisling to ferment, because I had an engagement watching my first ever Opera. Stacey (roommate) is a huge fan and got a good size group of people to go see Madama Butterfly. It was quite the tragedy. Good story, amazing soprano, strange set. It was pretty good. I'm glad that I've had the experience - but I may opt for orchestral peices in the future. But now I can at least say I've been! And for $20, that's not too bad!
After that, I organized some papers at my office, tutored for 2 hours, and then went off to my house to eat a short snack (of the rest of my squash) and then crashed. I was meeting Melissa at 6:20am to jog and play Racquetball.
And today research is going amazingly well!
Thanksgiving here I come!
