Perhaps little update wouldn't go amiss...
The past week with my dad has been great, although our time together has been limited as I've been working a lot.
Yesterday was my first official day of the Easter holiday, marking the end of a generally horrible spring term. My dad and I spent the day at home, and I had my first home-cooked meal since Sunday morning. I have always loved his stories, and he can tell a few. We have had quite a few laughs.
I leave for Florida in fewer than 48 hours and have only thought about packing, although I'm not bringing too much. They really do have stores in Florida (note the sarcasm). I'm planning on bringing a reasonably sized carry on, that way NO CUSTOMS or BAGGAGE RECLAIM! I like zipping right through, and hate waiting. I do have to check one item on the Heathrow - JFK leg as I'm bringing a suitcase my friend Kizzy left behind two years ago when she moved back to Brooklyn. Pain in the arse. Her mum is meeting us at JFK so we'll ditch it.
The thing I'm dreading is getting up at 04.00 for our 08.55 flight. At least my dad is paying for a cab!
