Two unusual things happened this week: yes, I live in a climate where rain is a notable thing: the drought is real, and even a few days of rain doesn't actually help long-term, but it's nice to have.
The other thing that happened was going to see Odysseo by Cavalia. Think cirque, but with horses. Some weeks ago the white big top went up right near my office (it's visible from the other side of the building, and lit up at night it's a huge landmark). So I bought a ticket for Thursday night (amusingly, one of the "where did you hear about us" answers was indeed "saw the big white top when driving by"). It was actually quite good!
Monday was a holiday for me. My friend Andy was originally supposed to return to VA after Gallifrey on Monday, but due to winter storms decided to stay an extra day. So we decided to go take in the new hotness Deadpool. I don't make the trip to movie theaters much so it was a nice treat.
The Tuesday regular, Mage Knight. In case you're curious, the mini in the foreground is Krang, the character I was playing, and in this particular game I sort of ramped up to OP super fast!
Wednesday was the rain. I used this as my picture of the day and then was appropriately shamed by some really cool ones on my Instagram feed, so I will have to challenge myself a bit more next time it rains!
Thursday was my visit to Odysseo, so a bonus picture this week! I decided to buy one of the VIP tickets, which came with (among other perks) a tour of the stables after the show. It was a "look, don't touch" thing, but it was neat to see all the horses hanging out in the stables and to see the grooms handling them. This one, Melchor, was kind enough to stand still for a selfie!
Friday was busier than planned because some friends wanted some last minute house help on Saturday, so I decided to pack up my games for Saturday's game day early. What to choose??
As it turned out, I was requested by the three-year-old for "play games" duty, so I didn't do as much home improvement as babysitting. Not that I mind in the least! :) This was Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, which is really cool in the way it incorporates a little training in manual dexterity into the game.
We finished the week with a drive down to San Diego to see their regional production of Ragtime. I was the only one who knew the show, so it was really cool to have some friends learn about it. It was really quite well done, and somewhere they managed to dig up an actual Model T to use during the show, so that was pretty neat, too!
It's amusing that even on a week where I went to a movie, I STILL managed to go to more live shows than movies... but there you go!
