I realized my farewell was a bit hasty and maybe even a bit harsh. While I stand by what I wrote, I feel it's only fair to give a bit of thanks

Since this post doesn't include a request that we not respond, I'm going to take the risk and do so.
What I like about you: your wit and sarcasm, your ability to tell such wonderful stories, your willingness to expose a bit of yourself even against your better judgement, your ability, in my case at least, to put up with ranting and whining, your open-mindedness, your irrevernce.
It has never been my policy to try drawing out people who don't want to be, although now I wish I had been a bit more of a pest. I do wonder what your name is. I wonder if I've ever passed you in the street. I wonder what we would talk about if we were to sit down and have coffee. I wish I knew why you were leaving. I wish the pull of solitude weren't so seductive to you. And I wish I could push both matters, but since you won't respond to this, I won't have the opportunity.
I think you are quite remarkable. Honest and for true. I think you have quite an original world view and I hope you'll employ it in whatever creative endevour you eventually settle on. But most of all I hope you return to us, when the time is right of course. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading your posts. I've looked forward to them, been delighted when I've found two or three in a row on my friends page. I hope you manage to accomplish what ever it is you need to by leaving, and that you come back eventually to let us know of your success.
Never be afraid to reach out. It isn't wrong to need people, and besides, you are much too extraordinary to keep to yourself.
