Foodie friends... I need some advice.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced (75$ or less) slicing apparatus. I want something that will make potato-chip thin slices of potatos but also be able to do other things. I've been looking at Mandolin slicers on amazon, but haven't found anything that seems to be of good quality. Any other suggestions?

And no, a good sharp knife is not the answer I am looking for. Although I do need to get my knives sharpened.
