"A ship?" Charles asked.
"That seems to be the best hypothesis at present," Ted said. "That small body travelling away from Neptune is quite probably a spacecraft of some kind. And computer projections say it's on a direct course with Earth."
A chill ran down Charles McNider's spine, as he remembered the inhuman plant-men of Neptune.
"How long?"
"A week at the most."

Authors You Should Stalk Know, But Probably Don't
Harvey Kent doesn't really get around much. Most of his stuff can be found on The JSA All-Star Story Site. (Don't worry, his are the one shots!) The link provided will take you to pretty much all his work. He writes exclusively golden and sliver age DC. Worry not modern age fans, they are written so you can enjoy even if you know nothing of what comes before. It is his JSA I love best. His Dr. Mid-Nite is just so perfect. And the plots. Oh the glorious, stand-alone, well thought out plots. It is like picking up that issue they forgot to publish.
papersanctum is doing JSA for fanfic50. Here's the tag: papersanctum: jsa. So far he has been writing up to current events with the current cast as gen. Characterization on these are to die for. (As it happens I have all these fics linked at the top. Ha. See my obsessive love?)
LJ Comms
monitor_duty - "Three times weekly on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday we publish an edition with the idea of promoting DC and Marvel comics and animated series fandoms (i.e. new communities, new challenges, fiction, art, icons, etc)." Fishing through LJ for fic is for the birds, let me tell you. You can dig through all those fic challenge comms only to fics there weren't worthy of your time. Well monitor_duty is going to save you some time, bringing you the freshest fic as it hits LJ. For the stuff they miss, I'll get to it eventually.
A Snapper Carr/Hourman III Lovefest - "Welcome to the home of the Snapper Carr/Hourman III ficathon! Or fic challenge. Or fic exchange. Or...something. We're still working on that part." This place is dead. Never was alive. I show it to you on the basis that the ship made me snort in the my hot chocolate this morning.
