My Serenity screening voucher arrived today. Yay! I also got the details on the geek-a-thon Harry Potter thing the day after the movie. Harry Potter marathon - June 24
All 4 films will be screened beginning at 11am and concluding at 10:30pm. There will be relatively short intermissions, except for an hour-long dinner break between the final 2 films. Admission is $10 in advance (tickets now available) or $12 at the door.
Sweeeet. Though, still not totally certain I'm doing that. I've actually seen all of those on the big screen, and I could do the same thing at home with intermissions as I see fit. But I do have two free passes to that theater coming as well.
Last night had a pocket of suck. I met up with people at our regular bar. The band canceled so they were debating going somewhere else. They said Avon, where there would be a live band and dancing. What I didn't know, though, was that the band was there for Spunktacular Days, meaning an outdoor festival. Heat, walking, mosquitoes, and nowhere to sit. Totally not my idea of fun, especially when it's a surprise, I'm still recuperating from whatever the hell I had on Tuesday/Wednesday, and wearing a cleavage-y shirt and jeans, which are now muddy because there was intermittent rain.
Gotta give 'em props for the name, though.
I tried to tough it out, but heh, they saw right through me. I was truly miserable, so we headed out about 45 before the band was done. We picked up a late snack and hung out till two-ish, when I simply had to go to bed.
Then I got woken by a call from work this morning at 7:15. Sigh.
We're all set for Father's Day, though. Huzzah. Except for the cooking part. And I found TAR S1 at Pawn America yesterday for $20. It was still in its plastic wrapping, even.
