Al Franken enters Minn. Senate race. Um, yay?
I just spent about five minutes trying to get my supervisor to know who Al Franken is. To no avail. I'll have to bring in one of my books tomorrow, see if a picture helps. (Or maybe the button I picked up at the Air America booth at last year's State Fair?)
I told him that Al grew up in St. Louis Park (suburb of Minneapolis), so it's not like he was all "Hey, I'll go to Minnesota! They elected a wrestler, they're wacky." Then he said that Arnold would be the more likely precedent. Then I said, if we're talking actors, I think Reagan went there first. Him: "Yeah, but governor of California is more important than president anyway." Me: "...he did that, too." Heh.
sweet_ali lived up to her name and bought me virtual candy. Aww. I'll be following her lead and buying myself candy tomorrow. Awwww. (Alternate entry quote: "Mmm, half-priced chocolate.")
