Hey-o,
I <3 house of knives. They're having some kind of sale or clearance or something, so I managed to get some great stuff. I finally broke down and bought a Leatherman multi-tool, my PO (that's the abbreviation for "Petty Officer") is pretty experienced in these things and states that Leatherman's better than Gerber, so when I saw a mini-tool on for 1/2 price, I had to pick it up. It's nice and tiny and hi-Q, so it'll fit on my belt without ever getting in the way.
They had nice throwing knives, but instead I bought a diamond edge dual-sided sharpener, which I desperately need, and I also picked up a 1 oz stainless steel flask which, as I found out, came with an attachment so you can use it as a keychain. I plan on putting a shot of Screech in it so I can have it with me on my travels. That was 1/2 price too.
In summary, I spent nearly $70 there, but saved almost $35, so I was very happy. I'll probably go back there again before I leave.
This is the long weekend here, as it is for 1/2 of Canada, Monday's the stat holiday. 95% of people have taken off to Vancouver and/or Whistler. Most don't have a place to stay, though, because the Gay Pride Parade is apparently in town.
The benefit of this is I have a room to myself, and I also have lots of free time and I'm saving money because there's no one to go out drinking with. Saving money is good, because I plan on going skydiving next weekend. That should be fun. I think I might go to Chinatown either today or tomorrow.
Anyways, I'm out for a bit, I'll check in maybe next week.
