funny neighbors
My next door neighbor is a guy named Ivan. He's very nice. He's a little weird, and he smokes like a chimney and I often smell it through the wall, but he's very nice. This morning on my way to the gym, I ran into him outside, so we stopped to chat. He was going on and on about how he couldn't get his very old computer to work with his new ipod and he plugged it into the UBS (that's not a typo) cable, and it took 24 hours to charge but still didn't do anything.... yaddda yadda and he might get a mac. So, long story short I offered to help him with the new computer if he gets it. He said he was only going to get it if he could finance it, etc. But anyway, I was highly amused by the fact that he kept calling it the "UBS thing", but Im not really convinced he actually could point it out on his computer if he tried. But I did go over to see his computer, and it was quite dinosaur-ish. I was amused. It made my day a little. He said if he bought a laptop he would have to get a rat (meaning a mouse) because he got mad at the computer and was afraid he would break it. He also was totally awed by the fact that to do things on the ipod only needed a soft touch and that pushing it harder didn't work. really amused.
