Julie & Julia this morning, a book that must be read by anyone who 1) is in their 30s, 2) has blogged regularly enough to have strangers reading their stuff, 3) loves to cook random stuff just to see what happens, 4) lives in Austin, 5) loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or any combination of the above.
Very entertaining! This woman on the verge of turning 30 and suffering from ennui/angst/whatever decided to cook the entire Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child in one year. She details both the cooking experiment (in her tiny Queens kitchen [she grew up in Austin] with a tolerant, slightly concerned husband) and the weirdness of having a blog read by tons of people.
The book starts out a little precious in its "look at my cleverness" way endemic to long-time bloggers, but it settles in and becomes a lot of fun. I saw myself in several parts.
