As much as Ive been trying to deny it as I was in my car today with justin listening to country I realized that the redneck side of me is beginning to take over. I was raised as a redneck...I shot my first .22 when I was 3. I then shot my first animal (a squirrell) when I was 5. While I was growing up I lived nowhere near any kids. I entertained myself shooting frogs and other various critters with a colt .22 hand gun. Venison was not just a food source for my family, it was a way of life. I knew deer season was right aorund the corner when my dad would grow out his beard, he said it was for added camoflage but I believe it was a deeper superstition dating back to my great grandfather. If any of you have ever met my dad or have been to my house you realize as soon as soon as you pull into the driveway that he is not entirely what we could call the "average joe". The mailbox post is made of a weird shaped tree he cut out of the woods. There are two cement deer in our front yard. Our Driveway consists of vehicles, a jeep, a tahoe, a envoy, a minivan, and the neon. the pole barn as everything you ever need but you can never find it. 2 boats, 5 tractors, 4 chainsaws, 2 ice shantees, various woodworking tools, block and tackles which for 3 months of the year always have a deer hanging from them, 200 gallon air compressor, a four wheller, a mini bike...you get the idea....we have alot of redneckish styff in there. We have 6 trailers....dont ask me why but we have six....my dad is also a trucker. After eing raised by him for 13 years I moved out when they divorced. It was then when I was introduced to the city slicker lifestyle. My mom dated this guy named mike...he was lets just say...fairly well off. He owned race horses....big time race horses. When they first began dating he owned a percentage of a pacer named Western Shooter. He set the a world record for a 2 year old by running a 1:50 flat. This was in a million dollar race. Toronto became my second home. For the most part his horses raced at Woodbine and Mohawk, both in or near Toronto. I grew fond of this city and hated to leave. I was first introduced to the "Street Racing" style of life, When we wnt to Mikes dad's house. There in the garage was the most amazing vehichle I have yet to lay my eyes upon....a Porsche Ruf. My love for fast cars grew and grew into what I am today. As a chapter of my life ends and a new one begins I am trying to find myself....trying to find what persona I fit more...the redneck, lifted truck, guns in the back lifestyle....or the tuner, sport compact, subs in the back lifestyle.
