Please don't kill me. (^_^);

Because this post seemed to get an incredibly great response, I believe that the moderators should reserve themselves the right to delete posts containing the "cashew" or "kyo-eats-babies" joke.

a) Reserve the right - that means not ALL posts will be deleted. A good joke placed at the right time, no matter how ( Read more... )

Eh... What about not reading the entry if you know it's going to annoy you?

I'm bored with the cashews aswell, but really now, this is getting silly. No-one's forcing anyone to read every little thing on here. If someone complains about their friends pages being flooded (which is an exaggeration in itself) with cashews and baby-cuisine, I suggest a nice cup of 'Don't let JRH show up on your friends page'.

But deleting a post simply because you're afraid an amount of members are going to be pissed off? Censorship is humor's worst enemy.

Just sayin'...

I have to say I agree with this~ ^-^ If people don't want those kinda jokes, they can just.. not read them. This is like censorship, and.. that's just wrong.

YOu do have a point, of course. I just think if it causes more frustration than humor (which it apparantly does), it defeats the purpose of jrockhumor.

Personally, I wouldn't know how to get out of reading these jokes, even if I wanted. Way too often they're behind cuts without any warning. When I am on a dial up connection, it's kinda frustrating to have wasted the loading time and money for frustration instead of a laugh.

But this is exactly why this post was posted. 24cylinders almost only got "Yes, you're right!" answers and maybe this will coax people to say if they disagree.

So... thanks for your contribution. (^_^)

Well, your the mod! XD; But as one of the people I disagree. T_T I mean, if we were going to delete every post we found unfunny we'd have to delete all that unreadable art stuffs people draw that looks like stick men on crack. :X

The point is not to delete them because they're not funny, but because people seem to feel annoyed by that and they're overused. Alternatively, I am thinking of a rule of generally deleting stuff that is being overused since sometimes 'trends' for three or four days come up that everyone seems to copy, anyway. The cashew-joke, for example, could be regarded as a "contant" copying of a joke/constant band-wagon jumping.

Thank you for the contribution.

Ah! I see your point! O.O I still disagree, but I still what you mean. I've noticed people do that, also. Like, the whole weird 'voting' thing now. o_O; I think that's a little bothersome because whoever came up with it isn't getting any credit, because I remember this joke from last year, or the year before? Maybe before I even joined. But bah, what can you do. -_-;

Rawr, I stomp bad humor and make it go squish!!

Be nice if we could stop all this stupid election shit, since I know several people have revomed the comm from their friends list cause its that annoying.

I didn't really see the election shit.

Maybe in general we should really just start deletions on overused jokes, no matter which. I find it very sad that people would remove the community. This is really not what it should be like.

I really wonder whether it would be more annoying just to silently 'take care' of overused jokes or to leave them on. Honestly, nobody is going to care much for something that is not there... but people will care for something they see and that annoys them. Maybe the purpose of a mod should be to prevent such things.

As the original poster of Kaoru for President, I'm starting to lose all the fun I had with it. Not only because people enjoyed the original joke, but because I could do more with it: I could make campaign materials, I could have a debate, I could fend off scandals, I could use it interact with more people in the community and have them share the fun, which I still intend to do. Sure there are people who copycat in cheesy ways. But what, now I can't post the stickers and icons I made because people I have no control over killed the joke? I can't put cashew jokes in the stuff because it's been unoficially banned? I'm sorry to take this out on you, but I think we're all here to have fun, and nothing should compromise on that, not even "several people" being annoyed.

See, I think if it hadn't been totally overblown like it has been, it could have sustained a much longer life span as something amusing. Especially if someone pitted say, Miya against Kaoru and they had a debate over the sexiness quota of their goatee's, something like that would be funny (if well done). And I understand that you can't control the people who say "EVERY PERSON FROM DIR EN GREY FOR SOME SORT OF OFFICE HUR HUR," but really, you get kinda sick of your friends list being spammed by shit like that. Its also not just the election shit, a lot of it also has to do with the fact that the community lacks quailty humor. 98% of the things that get posted are, well, crap. I could post a picture of someones ass and people would find it funny, when really thats not funny. It's just a person's body. Mind you, this is all opinion, but it would be nice to see more quality humor and less lemming action since people feel the need to follow off of what gets jokes this week.

ok so i don't enjoy the jokes either. still you can't forbid people to joke about it, that would be like me saying 'oh i'm so tired of all those this-is-a-conversation-between-me-and-my-so-cool-friend-about-this-j-rocker-and-whatever-posts, can't the mods remove such posts please?'. now i don't do that cause i know others enjoy reading them.

'The impression I got was that these jokes are UNWANTED'
well, since they keep coming, i guess there are still people finding them funny. just don't read those posts and we'll all be happy...

I'm starting to lean more and more towards a general rule against overusing jokes after starting to read the comments from everyone.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.
