Don't believe the hype...wait...do believe it.

I finally got the chance to watch "The Dark Knight" this past weekend. I also managed to get to see it on the wonderful IMAX screen.

This movie has gotten a lot of hype... whether it be for Heath Ledger's frightening depiction of the Joker, or Ledger's relatively recent death, or Christopher Nolan's much darker take on Batman after Joel Schumacher's shit shows and Tim Burton's one classic and one forgettable versions.

I'm glad to say that I didn't really get caught up in the hype, albeit I was quite aware of it. I've found far too often that I get a bit (or severely) disappointed.

Well, I must say, not this time.

The movie was AWESOME!!!

I'm tempted to watch it again in the theatre... and I do know for certain I'll be buying it when the DVD comes out for sale.

Not much a fan of Ledger, but his portrayal of The Joker was phenomenal...you would never be able to guess that it was him. And it's because of this role I find it even more shameful that he's passed away. And although everyone else is great in the film, he really stole the show.

I know some people have played down the hype and all... but I'm going to add to it. I really, really enjoyed this film. Might be a tad long, nearing about 3 hours... but it was worth it. Man... what a great show...
