Coming up on Super Tuesday:
The winds seem to have shifted about, and in some quarters people are charging at the next Tuesday in a do-or-die mode, with Edwards throwing a lot of money at media and scrapping his events schedule, for one thing. On the Obama side, watch for some more surprising people to come out and endorse him over the next week, as more people decide that it’s possible to give the Clintons the finger and live. And especially after the C’s most recent round of hardball politics, that it’s Open Yer Mouth And Just Say No.
The Republicans are in severe turmoil after McCain’’s win in Florida. It will (after tomorrow) come down to McCain and Romney trying to do the Dance of the Ninety-nine knives, with Huckabee seeing what he can grab in the process. Many Republicans are anguished over the idea of either of these guys getting the true-blue-Bushie vote, either because either one has a spotless True Beliver history or because they think either one personally is a real lying toad. Me, I’m amazed at McCain and Romney coming up with all sorts of wild accusations; I’m expecting to find out that Romney had gay sex with Mao Tse-Tung and that McCain eats baby lambs live and raw with his bare teeth.
