This is going to be…
…a very disconnected week. My sister-in-law (Susan’s brother’s wife) just had a major death in her large family back in SW Minnesota, near Sioux Falls, and the entire clan (my BIL, SIL and their four kids) are on their way through nasty weather to ‘home’ for the wake and funeral. The family’s pretty distraught; the death was long expected but very upsetting. My MIL, Susan’s mom, has been asked to officiate at the funeral; our guess is that this will be Thursday - and she’ll be leaving in our SUV for Sioux Falls tomorrow morning.
This puts a severe crimp in our stuff for the next couple of days. I have a doc appointment mid-afternoon on Wednesday ( tomorrow) and I’ll probably have to pull Mere out of school early to take her with me - otherwise, nobody’s going to be here to pick her up, and the weather here is bitterly cold. We also have to cancel some other appointments for Mere, and I’ll have to drive her over to school and anything after until this is over. (Mere just recently joined the Brownies and is enjoying it…)
Add on to this that Susan is still really not over a bad bladder infection that totally floored her over the weekend, so I would expect that if the doc suggests putting me in the hospital for the IV antibiotic treatments, I’ll be SOL until Connie (my MIL) gets back here. I’ll be the only ‘fit’ person here.
