Steve was my roommate in the dorm at Purdue for a year. I discovered of his passing last year while searching the web. I was older and when I graduated, I lost track of him. He was an"interesting" character, a good room mate and friend.

Steve and I became friends when he was working in the mid 1980s at the Findlay, Ohio, public library. He and I drifted off after I left Findlay for Chicago, but he kept up a correspondence with my mom; when she died in 2003, I found a new letter from him unopened in her reent mail, and I contacted him to let him know she was gone; he was shocked and very upset, and I hadn't heard from him since that. When I ran into this, I decided to capture it for my journal, as a candle for his memory.
