BUT, if those who pressured him think that it's going to do any appeasing of repercussions from American consumers and hence American businesses, sorry, it won't cut it. It won't stop the lawsuits, or the loss of market share, and it won't really ameliorate American public opinion. Especially recalcitrant will be the older portion of the American population, who remember growing up hearing the propaganda that "they don't really value human life in Communist China, not the way we do here in free America."
What a waste of a human life.
