Boy, I've gotten behind on this.
Life it's own self, of course. Mere's got her cousins Kennedi (8) and Kailyn (9) visiting, and she's been having a great time with them. This also means that the three grownups here - me, marmot63 and her mom - have been working overtime with Kid Stuff to herd them and make sure they're kept busy and having fun. This week, they're in Cheerleader Camp along with Mere's buddy Alicia, and while you and I may make finger-down-the-throat motions on the concept of 'cheerleader' stuf, it's a big deal to the girls.
Mere's been learning to swim from instructors at the local village waterpark, and is making great headway. I mean, here's a kid who was terrified of water who can now stick her face in it and go after dive sticks in shallowish water. It was all a matter of dealing with her fears in the right time and place, and it's paying off this year. The sensory integration problems she and her twin have dealt with since the orphanage have been her greatest problem; but she's made great progress.
