Well, yes and no and thankfully for my immediate hiney, not on *me* specifically.   But…

Today, Susan left for the entire day off with Mere - first to skating practice, and then off to Auntie Marlyce’s help with a graphics project.   I checked in by phone a few times; Susan sounded hoarse and icky, but she’d said that was more sound than true icky ( Read more... )

Whatever that stuff is, it's been going around here too.

I went shopping with my friend Rox and her kids last Saturday. By the time we got home, the older one was feeling sick. By Sunday afternoon middle child was was not doing so good. By Monday, the older two were doing fine but the youngest was down with it, so she went and picked up everybody from daycare and/or school and went home.

This all left us one attorney short (short of what I don't know) at work and since she was needed, the office manager suggested that maybe I could go home and watch her kids and Rox could come back. Worked for me, especially since by now, I wasn't feeling too hot. I left with an earache, sore throat, and so tired I was doing good to drive.

One thing I'm learning and dragging my heels about accepting is that one does not bounce quite as well once you get past a certain point. By Tuesday the kids were doing what really smart kids always do, being the wonderfully creative little PITAs that they always are and I was worse. On Wed, Paul watched the little one since she was still running a fever, he's now out of work, and I needed the sleep. On Thursday, I tried to go to work, but only made it in for an hour before giving up and Paul was now sick. By Friday Rox had it.

We're all on the mend, but man...this was the week that was...
