You know these people are for serious.

Shudder.

And now that Ma Palin has four years to cram she won't be caught so off guard by gotcha questions. So people will argue she's actually not dumb as a post, just dumb as a Bush. And after 4 years of sane policies they might start to forget what Bush was like.

So yeah. That's kinda scary to me.

"She's a rising star in the GOP and could easily defeat Barack Obama in 2012".

Clap harder.

It's all summed up by my DKos sigline: The states of Delusion, Denial, and Desperation have no electoral votes.

This is real? Du lieber Gott.

Caribou Barbie for President! May this day never happen.

i sincerely she falls of the cliff of the news and becomes irrelevant. (But I'm sure the right-wing blogosphere won't let that happen!)

Abuse of power in her capacity as governor of Alaska may help.
Then again, look ow well Ted Stevens did.

I'd be pretty happy to see her run at the front of the ticket in 2012. I can't think of anything that would better guarantee an 8 year term for Obama. However, having her as the candidate would mean that the Republican party was getting even more fringe than they are now. I don't think that will happen. They're going to have to come more back towards reality, or they're going to implode.

I say we cut off their Social Security, Medicare, public water supply, and don't let them drive on public roads, either. Of course, they're going to be unemployed soon, with plenty of time on their hands. It could get ugly....

I kind of wonder if you really understand the right. I mean, it's clear Palin gave a lot of people a kind of cartoon idea of the right, which admittedly some of the more wacky end of the right admire and even match.

But really, if you cut all those services off and didn't make them pay the taxes for those services, I am pretty sure they'd say, "You have a deal!" Heck, you could give 'em the public roads and make them pay local taxes for their upkeep, just not let them on the ones paid for with federal taxes, and you'd still have half of them calling you a saint.

Know them? I'm related to them. If you cut off their Social Security, they'd be broke. They have no other income. The taxes they're complaining about are the local property taxes. They want to re-elect Eisenhower, from what I can tell, and get Joe McCarthy back in the Senate. If it could be 1955 again, they'd be happy (although some of the folks with this attitude weren't even born yet in 1955). They're sure I'm going to burn in Hell; I'm sure that if I wind up in their version of Heaven, I'll think I've gone to Hell. :-)

Yeah, that's the "more wacky" end I was talking about (*grin*), but that is definitely only one part of the Right, and they certainly have their equivalent on the Left. The others - indeed a large part of the Right - would as I said be happy to take your offer.
