I recommend the following book for ANY fantasy fan:
The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2006 19th Annual Collection
Editted by Datlow,Link, & Grant
Published by St. Martin's Griffin.

Its a collection of short stories. I really recommend(in this annual):

-Short Stories:
Northwest Passage
by Barbara Roden

Follow Me Light
by Elizabeth Bear
(Jill F. you would like this)

The Last Ten Years in the Life of Hero Kai
by Geoff Ryman
(my Favorite)

Quote:
1) Heroism consists of action
2) Do not act until necessary
3) You will know that the action is right if everything happens swiftly
4) Do whatever is necessary
5) Heroism is revealed not by victory byt by defeat
6) You will have to lie to others, but never lie to yourself
7) Organized retreat is a form of advance
8) Become evil to do good
9) Then do good to earn merit and undo harm
10)Heroism is completed by inaction

The Scribble Mind
by Jeffrey Ford

-Poetry:
Omens
by Kelly Everding

..not done yet but still reading.
All these things are short stories or poetry you can find other than this book, so I listed it above; but the book does contain them all.

I was mentioning to a friend isn't it odd:

In life, the majority of "living" is done outside of work and school; but people always seem to put a lot of faith and belief in the fact that work is their life or what defines who they are. I think it is both sad and ironic that people sometimes leave living for later when they are using up there life with work instead of truly living. From an old western: "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'."

Easier said than done, but I choose to live. And I realize that life is the inbetween times, the friends along the way and the choices we make of with the time given to us, rather than fretting about the past.

Love lots,
Laugh often,
Regret little.
