I was just trying to tidy up my room and I found a disk. I was very curious - you know it's one of those things you look at it you just want to know what's in it. So I put it into my computer and realised it was a recording thing I did with CubaseSX (Program for recording). Suddenly I remembered so well i was basically bored, I setup my gear (2 mics, 1 guitar, and a mixer) with the computer. Just sat down and recorded it. One go. Still remember it was around 2,3am in the morning that I had force my voice to sing real soft. Used all sorts of falsetto.
Now. When I am bored, I realised I dont do recording anymore but just goto my piano and sing. Do you remember what you would do back then if you were bored? How about now?
We change. I still read when I'm bored. I guess that's a good thing. Still play music, but no more recording. Maybe too much hassles? I dont know. Used to be really love CubaseSX, MIDI, tracks mixing. I even got a RMIT certificate for recording! One of those short courses, you know. I still remember there were 13 students myself included and I was the only Asain there. Most of them were DJs, some working part time in some well-known night clubs etc. And when it was my term to say what kind of career I was in, I went "Software Engineer" - the host immediately went "that's very unrelated". And he explained the path to recordings is a very harsh path. Only a few can succeed in making real money. He said most of the studio recorders do no make money except teaching the skills.
Well, just from this CD I found, all these memories came back - it's amazing how your hobbies change.
Okay here were the two chinese songs I recorded solo in the CD when I was bored,
垃圾 and
好心分手 .
God Bless
