Ok, wow, I'm here. I've finally made it all the way down to the Pole. Actually, I've been here the last two days but it's been difficult staying up to catch the satellite pass (currently 11:12 PM here). It has been a whirlwind experience getting down here. I promise that when I get a chance I'll write a LOT more describing the experience and what's been going on. I've been doing a lot of on-the-spot training and so on. I feel very confident about what we are trying to do and the situation I'm walking into. I'm with good people who work very hard at what they do under really really extreme conditions (-40˚C & ˚F today!) and it's only going to get ever more crazy as time goes on. Now, however, it's been a LONG day and I have to get some sleep. However, things will calm down once the last planes are out of here.
To sum up: I'm alive, well, happy and things are going smoothly.
Now to sit back, relax, and literally watch the world revolve around me.
