Today...I am officially 29....woot!
Welcome to the official middle of the year folks. :-)>
I got to ring in my birthday this year with 'manda, Marty and Joe down in the basement of the Newman Center watching "The Kite Runner." Good movie. Deep movie. See it if you haven't had a chance to read the book. I also hope to eventually get to read the book as well.
Finally, since I haven't updated in awhile, here's the scoop on what my getting-out-of-Cache-Valley plans are. My house has been sold. After two days on the market I was shocked that the offer came in, and for what I was asking as well. August 12 is my official departure date from the valley. I will be heading back home to MA. From there, I will base my job search. I also, quite simply, need a break. All this time in school and all this time in UT, quite frankly, has taken a toll on me. Especially the particularly nasty bit of dealing where my advisor attempted to kick me out of my own lab simply because I was away at my grandfather's funeral for "too long". I am going to horribly miss all of the dear friends that I have made while out here. I'm hoping that we'll all manage to stay in touch as best we know how. No, it's not the same as being in person, but still, thoughts count. At the same time, I'm looking to renew my friendships with all of those whom I have missed while away.
So, this year is indeed living up to its potential as a year of change. And where the four winds will take me, I do not know, but I know that indeed they are blowing and a mighty ruckus will ensue.
