Shiny new iPod...

My old iPod, Drifter, met a rather disappointing end Friday afternoon when it fell out of my pocket straight onto the concrete floor of the lab. Shortly after that Drifter was displaying the "not happy iPod" icon and the internal hard drive was making a terrible grinding / clanking noise. Yup, Drifter definitely wasn't a happy iPod.

Sooo....this afternoon after the Notre Dame game ( a win against the Tarheels) I hopped in the little blue volvo and headed down the Gateway Mall out there in SLC. Joy. Fortunately I had made an appointment at the Genius Bar so I didn't have long to wait. After a bit of discussion the genius behind the bar says "I'm going to replace your iPod." SWEET! So the nice genius goes hiding off into the back of the store and comes out with what looks to be a stack of black foam. Wrapped inside, one shiny new iPod. And, nope, it wasn't my exact model (a 40 Gb). Since they were out of stock of my old model I got a shiny new 60 Gb model with a color screen. Sweet!

So now I have a new iPod, named Orion.

apple, broken things fixed
