Hmm...well, I haven't posted in a while so let's me think of what's all new.
I was taking ballroom dancing lessons and I learned a few things, but then the guy that is kinda head of the club and was teaching hasn't been there forever and his assistant sucks as a teacher. He can't tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. He just shows you want to do and gives minimal description. I don't think Tucker and I are going to go anymore. There's only like 3 weeks left anyway.
I am taking horse riding lessons. I've had about 7 or 8 lessons now. I have my posting trot down fairly well, and I've jumped over a (very) small fence. And I've started cantering. But, I think I'm going to try to find a new stable. I don't like the way this one's run. The instructor is on her phone half the time and only tells you what to do if you specifically ask. She's not very organized, often late, and is somewhat a bitch. Instead of nicely showing me how to bridle the horse (which i haven't had to do for 3 or 4 weeks b/c it's been being used in the lessons before mine, so I'd forgotten), she just kinda did it quickly and rudely. I'm very ticked and disappointed in yesterday's lesson. I couldn't seem to mesh w/ Oscar (the horse) who I've only ridden once before. He behaves a bit differently than Cash who I usually ride. But instead of telling me while I'm on him that I can lay off a little, she tells me after the lesson why she wouldn't let me jump b/c I'd end up on the ground. Which is probably true, but she could've told me that I needed to lay off during the middle of the lesson and then I may have been able to do things right. And the stable isn't very well organized. There's always stuff along the aisle, which is frankly kind of dangerous and I can never be sure if I've grabbed a saddle that will fit b/c I don't even really know how to tell a difference between a pony and a horse saddle and there was no one there to really help me. And like, she doesn't tell me how to stand/sit while I'm cantering. She's just like "canter now". AND since I'm not really jumping yet, I spend more of the lesson just standing there than other people. I can understand not going over a fence, but at least when it would be my turn perhaps I could trot or attempt to canter once around the arena. It wouldn't take any longer.
Hmmm....And I'm almost done selling sweatshirts, I think.
And I get another little sis in Phi Rho.
And I may be co-oping at GE in L-ville in the spring.
And I think I've already written about NSE, which I need to do more work on.
I guess that's it for now.
