U.S. Naval Academy...am I ready to accelerate my life?

The answer to my first question...no. After my very nice, but long trip to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, I have decided that I would rather "Cross into the blue" than "Accelerate my life". Are you accusing me of picking my college on soley their catch phrases? You're absolutley right! Blue always was myfavorite color...

No, I have alot of reasons I'm going to go to the U.S. Air Force Academy. I'm going to be a pilot, and that means I'm probably going to have to spend about 10-12 years in which ever military branch I pick. Since both Academy's are so similar to me, and both have high return on their pilot slot requests, I'm picking on which branch i want to enter. Well, Id rather be in the Air Force. Not that I don't like being at sea all the time, its just 10 years of it, well, what if I wanted to start a family? What if something happened to my family here at home? If I'm on a boat I'm unreachable and so is everyone and everythign else. I just don't like that idea. The Air Force might move me around, but I'd get to take my family with me, and I can take emergency leave if anything bad happened and get home. Plus, since my dad was in the Air Force and my brother is in the Navy, I know that the Air Force treats their officers a little better.

So anyway flew up Friday to Washington and stayed with my brother, Laura, and Julianna. She can sit up now! She LOVES to kick and chew on anything she can get her hands on, including my arm. Anyway stayed there friday night and woke up early saturday morning to go to the Naval Academy with Vince. After that we went back to his house and enjoyed dinner and I read over some economics.

Sunday morning was the best part of the trip in my opinion. We got up decently early and went to St. Mary's in old Town section of Alexandria where I got to witness my first Tridentine Mass (Mass as said before Vatican II, the Old Latin mass). Oh man, I never want to go back to the Novus Ordo (post-Vatican II mass) again. Just knowing that you're experiancing the same exact mass that St. thomas Acquinas, St. Augustine, St. Therese, St. Benedict, almost ALL of the saints were saved by, is just AMAZING! Plus i think the fruits of the Novus Ordo (current mass) are evident. Mass attendance in down all over the world. Reverence in Mass by the way we act when recieving our Lord and by the way we dress is in constant decay. Liturgical Abuses are multiplying. The Novus Ordo, while a valid rite still, is a weaker mass then the Tridentine Mass and does not give us the spiritual strength that we CAN gain from the Traditional rite. I guess I have to go back to the Novus Ordo since there isn't a single indult for a tridentine mass in this entire diocese. I'd have to go to Huntsville or Mobile to find the nearest one. That's a shame. The Pope is currently in conference to consider giving a Universal Indult however, which means any parish could say the Tridentine rite if they wanted to. If that happened, then I'll push for our Bishop to get an indult mass somewhere in Birmingham. Even though I'm leaving, its important that its offered to anyone who wants to go to it. Traditional Catholics need alternitives to the Novus Ordo. There's a tridentine mass in Denver, which is close enough to the Air Force Academy for me to make every once in a while. So that's good. If you're interested in the differences in the Novus Ordo and the Tridentine Mass and why I like the old latin rite over our current mass, I'm writing a paper on it and I'll be done soon. Ask me about the masses or ask me to get a copy of the paper if you're interested any further!

Well I seem to find reasons to go into religuous tangents everywhere. lol...sorry bout that. Anyway to conitinue onward, My plane sunday night got cancelled and I had to stay another night cause they overbooked all theother flights and couldnt transfer me. So i flew in today at like 11:45 and got to shcool just in time to take that Econ. test! Whooo! Yeah, and now I have alot of hw and I'm really tired and I can't focus. Oh well, I'll just have to persevere! Thanks for reading!
